Two French nationals, Marine R. and her partner Marc B., are suspected of abandoning the 40-year-old woman's two young children by the side of a road near Setúbal. The boys, aged 4 and 5, were found alone and crying on Tuesday before being taken into the care of the Portuguese authorities.

The 41-year-old mother presents herself on social media as a sexologist specializing in trauma and body-based practices. A former psychomotor therapist, she had practiced for several years in the Aube region before recently moving to Colmar with her children. According to the prosecutor's office, her disappearance was reported on May 11 by her family after her unexplained departure by car towards southern Europe.
