Benjamin Pavard's home targeted in attempted robbery; five people taken into custody

The Marseille home of Olympique de Marseille defender Benjamin Pavard was targeted in an attempted burglary Wednesday evening, which ultimately resulted in the arrest of five suspects. Aged between 18 and 28 and from the Paris region, the individuals were taken into custody following a swift intervention by law enforcement, according to information released by the Marseille prosecutor's office.

A new intrusion targeting a football personality

The incident occurred late in the day while the French international footballer was not at his home in Bouches-du-Rhône. His wife, Kleofina Pnishi, a former Miss Provence who has become a model and influencer, reportedly spotted several individuals in the garden of the property before immediately alerting the police. Caught off guard, the suspects allegedly attempted to flee in a Mercedes before being apprehended.

An investigation has been opened into the attempted burglary. This case has once again raised the issue of security for public figures and top athletes, who have been regularly targeted in recent years by burglaries and attempted break-ins. Several French celebrities, including Michaël Youn, Vitaa, and Christophe Beaugrand, have recently faced similar, sometimes particularly violent, incidents.
