Nîmes municipal elections: Communist Vincent Bouget in the lead, National Rally defeated

This Sunday evening, Entrevue will be providing live coverage of the municipal elections. Throughout the evening, we will be publishing the results as they come in from cities across France.

In Nîmes, the Communist candidate Vincent Bouget is leading according to initial estimates with 41,5% of the vote, ahead of the National Rally candidate Julien Sanchez (37%) and the LR candidate Franck Proust (21,5%). This outcome marks a major political shift in one of the last large cities held by the Republican right, and a setback for the National Rally, which had hoped to win in this strategic city in the Gard department.
