In Bastia, Gilles Simeoni, the pro-autonomy president of the Corsican Executive Council, came out on top in the first round with 35,1% of the vote, according to an Ipsos BVA Cesi Engineering School estimate for France Télévisions, Radio France, Public Sénat, LCP AN. Julien Morganti, leading a coalition encompassing various political leanings from the left to the right, as well as autonomists, obtained 25,4% of the vote. Nicolas Battini, the National Rally candidate and candidate for the nationalist identitarian movement Mossa Palatina, garnered 16,9%, while Jean Martin Mondoloni, supported by a coalition including the right and the Radical Left Party, reached 11%. Four lists are thus expected to advance to the second round.
