The Kremlin speaks of a "new paradigm" in the war in Ukraine and accuses Kyiv of "acts of terrorism".

The Kremlin declared on Tuesday that the war in Ukraine had entered a "different paradigm" due to what it called "inhuman acts of terror" committed by Ukrainian forces against civilians. This statement marks a further hardening of the official Russian narrative on the conflict.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made these statements to the press in response to questions about massive strikes carried out overnight by Russia against several Ukrainian cities.

According to Ukrainian authorities, these strikes killed at least 17 people and injured around 100, primarily affecting urban areas. These attacks are part of a new wave of intensive bombing that continues to plague the country after more than two years of war.

Moscow, for its part, maintains that its military operations are a response to Ukrainian actions it considers attacks against civilians. The Kremlin regularly accuses Kyiv of carrying out "acts of terrorism," a characterization firmly rejected by Ukrainian authorities and their Western allies.

This new exchange of statements comes amid a sharp escalation of verbal and military tensions, as fighting continues on several fronts and attempts at diplomatic mediation remain limited.
