Nawat Itsaragrisil has dropped another bombshell regarding the organization of Miss Universe 2026 in Puerto Rico . The CEO of Miss Universe Eastern claims that the Puerto Rican government is now practically forced to maintain the 75th edition of the pageant due to the public funds involved. Even more seriously, he directly accuses Governor Jennifer González-Colón of relying on Miss Universe to further her political agenda. These statements add a new dimension to Nawat's revelations about Raúl Rocha's management of Miss Universe. He had already issued a warning: "If I speak out, Puerto Rico will tremble. I still have much to say."
"They have to organize Miss Universe"
This time, Nawat goes directly behind the scenes of the political and financial maneuvering surrounding the 2026 edition: “Puerto Rico will have an election at the end of this year. They have to organize Miss Universe, because if it’s canceled, it will be a blow to the government itself, because it uses funds from the government budget.” The accusation is explosive: according to Nawat, the public money involved would put the Puerto Rican authorities in a position where canceling the competition would become politically very difficult to justify.
Jennifer González-Colón personally implicated
Nawat doesn't stop at funding. He directly quotes the governor: "Governor Jennifer González-Colón will cling on with all her might. But there may come a time when she can no longer hold on. The water crisis is still not resolved." Then he makes the most explosive accusation: "The hope is that MU can help with political promotion."
In other words, Nawat openly suspects the Puerto Rican administration of seeing the 75th edition of Miss Universe as something other than a tourist and media event: a tool likely to politically enhance the power in place.
Nawat warns: Miss Universe 2026 could still fail
Despite the money invested and the announcements made surrounding Puerto Rico 2026, Nawat still refuses to guarantee that the contest will proceed normally: "If there are problems, it will be serious. It could even fail if there is an election."
This statement directly follows up on her previous warnings. In August, Nawat had already urged fans not to book flights and hotels for Miss Universe 2026 : “Don’t rush to book hotels, don’t rush to buy plane tickets. Wait until we are certain that the event will actually take place.” An exceptional warning for an international competition supposedly preparing for its grand anniversary edition.
A budget of 14 million mentioned by Nawat
The Thai leader also put a figure on the table, 14 million: “Be careful, America could reduce the budget. 14 million won't be as extraordinary as MGI.” A particularly embarrassing message for those who present Puerto Rico 2026 as a perfectly oiled machine: behind the prestige displayed by the 75th edition, Nawat describes an event dependent on budgetary and political considerations.
Nawat's revelations further incriminate Raúl Rocha's management
The new accusations take on an added dimension in light of what Nawat has been revealing for several weeks about the management of Miss Universe under Raúl Rocha. He has notably denounced the alleged "fake offices" of Miss Universe in New York and "fake crowns" bought on eBay.
Nawat claims that the alleged New York office is nothing more than a small room furnished to resemble a real headquarters. He also asserts that some of the crowns displayed in the official Miss Universe world are mere replicas. These are damaging accusations for an organization that claims to represent the image and prestige of one of the world's leading beauty pageants.
The Rocha camp attacks Nawat… then deletes its statement
In response to Nawat's revelations, Raúl Rocha's team recently attempted a counter-attack. The operation backfired spectacularly. On September 5th, Raúl Rocha's team published a particularly aggressive statement against Nawat before hastily deleting it.
Even more embarrassing, the document acknowledged that Nawat and several members of his team had been deliberately excluded from a meeting with national directors. Nawat had saved the text before it disappeared and immediately replied: "Why did you delete it? It's too late. We've already saved everything as evidence."
Rocha's team even went so far as to threaten Miss Universe Thailand's participation in the 2026 edition. A national candidate thus risked indirectly suffering the consequences of Rocha's confrontation with the one who is multiplying embarrassing revelations about his management.
After promising to "shake up" Puerto Rico, Nawat begins to speak
Nawat had announced he possessed information that could "shake up" Puerto Rico . He is now beginning to elaborate on his accusations. This time, he directly implicates the political and financial machinations of Miss Universe 2026 in Puerto Rico, claims that government funds are involved, and accuses Jennifer González-Colón of hoping to use the competition for her political advancement.
And while Nawat gradually reveals what he claims to know, the scandals continue to pile up around Raúl Rocha: the hastily deleted anti-Nawat press release , the $9 million he pocketed and the loss of control of the historic site , not to mention Nawat's revelations about "fake offices" and "fake crowns ." Nawat had warned: "I still have a lot to say." As he speaks, the entire dark side of Raúl Rocha's Miss Universe is now being exposed.
