Miss Universe: "Fake offices" in New York, "fake crowns" bought on eBay… Nawat urges people not to book for Puerto Rico 2026

Nawat Itsaragrisil has further hardened his stance against the current leadership of Miss Universe. The head of MGI PCL and director of Miss Universe Eastern has leveled a series of particularly serious accusations regarding the organization's operations, questioning the New York office, the authenticity of some of the crowns on display, the promotion given to various teams, and even several prestigious elements surrounding the competition. He goes so far as to advise those planning to travel to Puerto Rico for Miss Universe 2026 not to book their hotels or flights yet, stating that they should wait until it is certain the event will actually take place.

"The New York office is just a small room."

One of his strongest accusations directly concerns the Miss Universe New York office. Nawat claims: “The New York office is simply a small room used to store my friend’s belongings. They borrowed it, put a few stickers on it, and then called it the ‘visual office.’ I went there myself.” According to him, the premises presented as the Miss Universe office in New York are therefore far removed from the image of a true international headquarters. Nawat asserts that he personally visited this space.

The crowns on display are believed to be replicas purchased on eBay.

Nawat Itsaragrisil also attacks a central symbol of Miss Universe: the crowns. He claims that the models displayed in the organization's showroom in Mexico are not the authentic crowns. "The crowns displayed in the Miss Universe headquarters showroom in Mexico were purchased on eBay. They are all fake. My God, they have absolutely every model! They are replicas."

Nawat therefore clearly states that these are copies and not originals. This accusation is particularly serious for an organization whose crowns are one of its main symbols.

Nawat accuses Miss Universe of marginalizing her team

The Thai official also claims that his team was deliberately undervalued despite its involvement in Miss Universe. "The Western side never promotes us, never values us. We hosted Miss Universe 2025, but they're already promoting the host of Miss Universe 2026 in Puerto Rico. Even the sponsors I brought weren't allowed to be photographed or featured."

Nawat accuses certain individuals within the organization of prioritizing communication around Puerto Rico while downplaying the work done by his team. He also claims that the sponsors he personally brought to the competition were deliberately excluded from official communications.

"All the tears I have shed must be paid for."

Nawat Itsaragrisil then adopts a much more personal tone. “Every tear I’ve shed will have to be paid for with equivalent pain. All those who have been cruel to me, those who have borrowed money from me, those who have lied, those who have been dishonest… they will all have to answer for their actions. They will all be ruined. It hurts so much.” Nawat refers to people who allegedly borrowed money from her, lied to her, or acted dishonestly, without naming names.

He also casts doubt on the cruise ship and the yacht

Another revealing accusation: Nawat says she doesn't even know if some of the prestigious items shown around Miss Universe actually exist in the form presented to the public: "I don't even know if the cruise ship and the yacht actually exist. Maybe they just rented a boat and stuck a logo on it. I don't know."

"I've visited the Miss Universe offices in every era."

To support his criticisms, Nawat points out that he has long been familiar with the inner workings of the organization: "I've visited the Miss Universe offices in all eras. During Paula's time, during IMG's time, and now this era in New York, which just makes me sigh in frustration." He thus directly compares the current organization with previous periods of Miss Universe and makes it clear that he considers the current situation far less satisfactory.

A direct warning to those he accuses

Nawat continued with a statement that sounded like a challenge to his opponents: "I'm not naming names. All of you, don't be afraid. The days of fear are over. If you're truly brave, come to Thailand!"

Puerto Rico 2026: "Don't book your tickets yet"

Finally, Nawat directly advised those planning to travel to Puerto Rico to wait: “For those planning to go to Puerto Rico, please wait. Don’t rush to book hotels, don’t rush to buy plane tickets. Wait until we are certain that the event will actually take place.” This is a particularly strong statement given that Puerto Rico is slated to host Miss Universe 2026. By publicly asking people not to incur expenses yet, he is openly fueling doubt about whether the competition will be held under the currently announced conditions.

Nawat is now directly attacking the credibility of Miss Universe

With these statements, Nawat Itsaragrisil is no longer content with simply denouncing governance differences or personal conflicts. He is directly challenging several elements presented by Miss Universe: the reality of the New York office, the authenticity of certain crowns, the communication surrounding sponsors, several prestige items, and even the preparations for the 2026 edition in Puerto Rico. The Thai leader claims to have been wronged, ignored, and deceived. And he is now publicly warning that he intends to expose what he considers to be the organization's dysfunctions and deceit.
