The Quimper public prosecutor's office has opened an investigation into workplace violence and harassment targeting Olivier Bellin, chef of the Auberge des Glazicks in Plomodiern, Finistère. Several former employees of the two-Michelin-starred establishment have filed complaints with the authorities.
The investigation has been entrusted to the Châteaulin gendarmerie's research brigade. The complainants allege repeated humiliation, insults, and pressure. Some testimonies gathered by Ouest-France describe a particularly toxic work environment, which reportedly led to several resignations.
The chief declined to comment on the investigation.
When contacted by AFP, Olivier Bellin declined to comment on the opening of these proceedings. He had previously stated that he remained "steadfast in his position," without specifically addressing the accusations. At this stage, the investigation aims to verify the reported facts and establish any potential liability.
Aged 55, Olivier Bellin obtained his first Michelin star in 2005, then a second in 2010. Also awarded the Gault et Millau d'or, he announced at the end of July the closure of his gastronomic restaurant, citing difficulties in welcoming customers due to a period of intense heat.
