In a recent interview with Le Figaro, Rachida Dati, the outgoing Minister of Culture and influential political figure, expressed her views on the future of the French right and its role in governing the country. With a new meeting between the Republicans (LR) and Emmanuel Macron looming , Dati emphasized the importance of a "government pact" with the LR, which she considers "essential" to ensuring the country's stability.

Rachida Dati openly criticizes the proposal by Laurent Wauquiez , leader of the Republican Right (LR) parliamentary group, which advocates a "legislative pact" limiting the right's collaboration to occasional support on certain bills without integration into the government. For Dati, this proposal is insufficient to meet current challenges. She urges the Republicans (LR) to "choose responsibility" and fully assume their historical role by actively participating in the formation of a new government.

Dati recalls that the Republicans have always had the best interests of the country at heart, emphasizing the need for stability, security for citizens, and to pursue a policy of energy independence centered on the development of nuclear power. She pleads for rigorous management of public finances, and sees in a coalition with the central bloc parties (Renaissance, MoDem, Horizons) an opportunity to respond to these crucial needs.

The minister also warns of the danger of leaving the country at the mercy of a left that she describes as “minority” and “dominated by its pyromaniac firefighters”. She strongly criticizes France Insoumise, which plans to organize a demonstration on September 7 against what she calls Emmanuel Macron's “coup de force”. Dati questions the meaning of this demonstration, which she perceives as an attack on respect for republican institutions.

In conclusion, Rachida Dati calls on LR to show responsibility by seizing the opportunity of this government pact to actively contribute to the stability and prosperity of France, rather than giving in to political strategies that she considers ineffective and dangerous. .
