Tadej Pogacar won the 10th stage of the Tour de France, held on Tuesday between Ennezat and Le Lioran, after an impressive attack in the final kilometers. Having been narrowly beaten by Jonas Vingegaard at the summit of Le Lioran in the 2024 edition, the Slovenian erased that memory this time by winning solo. The UAE Team Emirates-XRG leader launched his decisive acceleration about fifteen kilometers from the finish, on the slopes leading to the Col de Pertus. None of his main rivals were able to match his pace. Pogacar then continued his effort on the descent and all the way to the summit of Le Lioran to secure his third stage victory in this 2026 Tour de France. This is also his 20th career victory in the Grande Boucle, a milestone that further cements his place among the greatest riders in the history of the race.
Vingegaard defeated, Evenepoel limits the damage
Jonas Vingegaard, the Slovenian's main rival for the yellow jersey, was never able to close the gap. The Dane crossed the finish line a considerable distance behind, despite a chase in the final kilometers. Remco Evenepoel, who had been dropped on the final climb, eventually rejoined the Vingegaard group after a significant effort. The Belgian thus limited his losses in the battle for the general classification, but couldn't prevent Pogacar from gaining even more time.
Isaac Del Toro completely cracks
The biggest victim of this stage was Isaac Del Toro. Third in the general classification at the start, the 22-year-old Mexican cracked on the final climb after putting up a strong fight. Winner of stage 2 and wearing the white jersey, the UAE Team Emirates-XRG rider lost nearly a minute and a half to Pogacar. This setback drops him off the provisional podium in the Tour de France.
Paul Seixas achieves another feat
At just 19 years old, Paul Seixas continues his exceptional Tour de France. The Frenchman took advantage of Isaac Del Toro's difficult day to seize third place in the general classification. Already remarkably consistent since the start of this 2026 edition, Seixas confirms that he is capable of competing with the best climbers in the peloton. This further jump in the general classification marks a significant step in the young French rider's career, now securing him a place on the provisional podium of the Tour de France.
The yellow jersey consolidates his lead
With this victory, Tadej Pogacar further strengthens his grip on the Tour de France. The Slovenian increases his lead in the general classification over Jonas Vingegaard and puts even more distance between himself and the competition after just ten stages. Before the start of the major Alpine stages, the four-time winner of the Grande Boucle sends a strong message to all his rivals. He now has a more comfortable margin and confirms that he remains the overwhelming favorite to secure a fifth victory on the Champs-Élysées.
