France faces Spain this Tuesday at 21 p.m. at Dallas Stadium in Arlington for a place in the 2026 World Cup final. Just hours before kickoff, bookmakers are giving Les Bleus the edge. However, the gap remains narrow between the two teams, both undefeated since the start of the tournament. A French victory in regulation time is generally offered at odds between 2,25 and 2,50. France therefore holds the top spot in the bookmakers' rankings, despite not being considered the overwhelming favorite.
Unibet places France at 2,25
On the French market, Unibet offers odds of 2,25 for a French victory, 3,35 for a draw, and 3,30 for a Spanish victory. A €10 bet on Les Bleus would therefore return €22,50, including the stake, if they win before any potential extra time. These odds give France approximately a 42% chance of winning in 90 minutes, compared to 29% for Spain and 29% for a draw, once the bookmaker's margin is distributed among the three outcomes. A draw and a Spanish victory are priced almost equally. The market is therefore seriously considering the possibility of the match not being decided within regulation time.
At bet365 in the UK, the gap is even smaller. France is priced at 11/8, or 2,38 in decimal odds. A draw and Spain are both offered at 11/5, or 3,20. The best odds found with British bookmakers go up to 2,50 for a French win, 3,30 for a draw, and 3,30 for Spain.
Nearly a 60% chance of seeing Les Bleus in the final
The qualification market takes into account the 90 minutes, extra time, and a potential penalty shootout. On this bet, the French advantage becomes more significant.
France's qualification is offered at odds of 1,60 at Unibet, compared to 2,30 for Spain. Bet365 offers very similar odds, with Les Bleus at 8/13, or approximately 1,62, and La Roja at 13/10, or 2,30. After deducting the operators' margin, these prices correspond to approximately a 59% chance of qualification for France and 41% for Spain.
Bookmakers therefore do not predict French dominance in regulation time. However, they believe that Les Bleus have more options to survive all possible scenarios, including extra time or a penalty shootout.
1-1 is the lowest odds exact score.
The odds for the correct score confirm the expectation of a close match. A 1-1 draw is offered at 5,10 by Unibet, making it the lowest-priced correct score before the match.
A 1-0 French victory is priced at 7,60, and a 2-1 win for Les Bleus at 8,30. A 1-0 Spanish victory reaches 8,90, while a 2-1 win for La Roja is offered at 9,70. A 0-0 draw is at 8,70. No scenario involving a large victory is among the market's preferred outcomes.
The method of qualification also remains very open. Unibet offers odds of 2,15 for France to qualify in regulation time, compared to 2,70 for Spain to qualify before extra time. Odds of 10 for each team to qualify via penalty shootout are also offered.
Operators are undecided about the number of goals.
The markets for total goals don't show as strong a trend as the qualification market. Bet365 offers the "over 2,5 goals" bet at odds of 2,00. The chance of both teams scoring is priced at 1,75.
At other bookmakers, the odds for betting on at least three goals drop to around 1,90. Winamax, in particular, offered odds of 1,91 for "over 2,5 goals," while the odds for "under 2,5 goals" remain similar. Bookmakers are therefore preparing for both a tight semi-final and a match in which both attacks quickly find space.
Current form puts Les Bleus in front
France has won all six of its matches in this World Cup, scoring 16 goals and conceding only two. They are currently on a three-match clean sheet run in the knockout rounds, including a 2-0 victory against Morocco in the quarter-finals.
Spain has also won all six of its matches. La Roja has conceded only one goal in the tournament, in its 2-1 victory against Belgium in the quarter-finals. This solidity explains why Spain's odds remain close to those of a draw, despite France being considered the favorite.
Recent results between the two nations, however, favor Spain. Spain beat France 2-1 in the Euro 2024 semi-final, then 5-4 in the Nations League semi-final in June 2025. Nevertheless, bookmakers believe that Les Bleus' world campaign and their effectiveness since the start of the competition give them a slight advantage this Tuesday evening.
France remains the favorite to win the World Cup
The hierarchy of the match is reflected in the odds for the eventual winner. France is offered at 2,45 to become world champions. Spain follows at 3,90, ahead of Argentina at 4,95. Les Bleus are therefore the favorites for the tournament before the two semi-finals.
