National recall: several Jules Courtial sausages suspected of listeria contamination

When slicing, the action seems harmless. And yet, a recall published Friday, April 10 on the official Rappel Conso website urges consumers to be cautious: several Jules Courtial brand sausage products should no longer be consumed due to suspected contamination with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria, which causes listeriosis.

The first product targeted is the KIKISSON sausage, approximately 200g, GTIN code 3327780200701, batch 126005, with a best before date between 09/04/2026 and 25/05/2026. The product was sold at Intermarché and at the Salon de l'Agriculture, which mechanically expands the potentially affected public, including buyers who did not purchase it in supermarkets.

Then there's the Tradition VPF, weighing approximately 320g, with three health and safety marks to look out for (3327780464844, 3327780452841, 3327780320843, all batches) and a stated best-before date between April 9, 2026, and June 9, 2026. These have been widely distributed: Auchan, wholesalers, Intermarché, Leclerc, Metro, Promocash, Carrefour, Carrefour Market, Magasin U, and even the Paris International Agricultural Show. When a product passes through so many different checkouts, doubt is no longer a minor detail on the shelf; it's a reflex to have at home, in the refrigerator or pantry.

The recall also affects the Ardèche IGP VPF sausage of approximately 250g, with GTIN codes 3327780320683, 3327780452681, 3327780464684 and 3327780013608 (all batches), to be consumed between 09/04/2026 and 09/06/2026, sold in particular at Leclerc, Auchan, Promocash, via wholesalers, Intermarché and Metro. Finally, other variations are concerned: VPF chili 250 g, VPF hazelnut 250 g, VPF Beaufort 250 g, with a series of GTIN codes (3327780013513, 3327780013486, 3327780013523, 3327780013493, 3327780013530, 3327780013714, 3327780013509, 3327780013691, 3327780013707, all batches) and the same durability window, products sold at the Agricultural Show, at Leclerc, via wholesalers and Intermarché.

In practical terms, the instruction is simple: do not consume. And monitor for any symptoms after ingestion, such as fever alone or accompanied by headaches and body aches, with increased vigilance for pregnant women, the elderly, and immunocompromised individuals, because "severe forms with neurological complications and maternal or fetal damage in pregnant women can also sometimes occur," reminds Rappel Conso. Every year, 400 to 500 cases of listeriosis are reported in France, a discreet but persistent figure, serving as a reminder that appetizers don't always forgive carelessness, especially when food alerts are multiplying and prompting consumers to adopt a new habit: checking before serving.
