Appearing on RTL's " Le Grand Jury" this Sunday , Maud Bregeon made the unity of the centrist bloc one of the major issues in the 2027 presidential election. According to the government spokesperson, the main danger to her camp does not come from government action but from the proliferation of candidates. "If we have two or three candidates in the first round of the presidential election, we will be eliminated," she warned.
According to her, a split vote among several candidates from the right and center could pave the way for a runoff between Jean-Luc Mélenchon and Marine Le Pen. "I'm fighting against that," insisted Maud Bregeon, judging such a scenario to be a "dramatic" choice for voters in her camp.
Édouard Philippe presented as the best placed
Maud Bregeon believes that, at this stage, Édouard Philippe is "undoubtedly" the candidate best positioned to reach the second round and win the presidential election. Recent polls do indeed show an increasingly clear advantage for the former Prime Minister over Gabriel Attal within the centrist bloc, even though he remains far behind Marine Le Pen in the first round.
The minister is therefore calling on all right-wing and centrist leaders to work quickly towards a united front. She specifically mentions Gabriel Attal and Bruno Retailleau , but also Gérard Larcher and Yaël Braun-Pivet, believing that everyone must play their part in building a joint candidacy.
Maud Bregeon is not formally asking Gabriel Attal or Bruno Retailleau to withdraw their candidacies, but her message is clear: an agreement must be reached "as soon as possible." She emphasizes that Édouard Philippe has already received the support of several leaders from various political backgrounds, including Gérald Darmanin , and believes he is currently "best positioned to build this coalition."
For the government spokesperson, the equation is now as much strategic as political: to prevent individual ambitions from leading to the elimination of the center in the first round. In her view, the choice of Édouard Philippe now appears to be the best way to prevent a runoff between the National Rally and La France Insoumise in 2027.

The very same person who contributed to the Macronist disaster (10 years) and its consequences... and who, while still holding onto her "position" as "spokesperson" for that same Macronism (salary guaranteed for another 8 months 😉), rushed to rally behind "Edouard" ^^... dares to speak of "personal ambition" when discussing the various candidates who are expected to join her "favorite," with, in the event of his victory, a new position to maintain his lifestyle? 😉
And all these media outlets that invite him, as a "spokesperson" or supporter of Édouard Philippe? What can I say? It only inspires disgust in me... and I don't think I'm the only one...
