During the commemoration of General de Gaulle's Appeal of June 18th at Mont Valérien, a heartwarming moment highlighted the close relationship between Emmanuel Macron and Gabriel Attal. During the event, schoolchildren had the opportunity to ask the President of the Republic questions. One of them, curious, asked Emmanuel Macron if Gabriel Attal was "his little brother."
Smiling, Emmanuel Macron replied: “No, but it could be my little brother.” He then explained: “He is my Prime Minister. He is someone who has been with me since the beginning. He's like my little brother. »
A fun exchange with schoolchildren
Shortly after, Gabriel Attal walked past the children, and the same schoolboy called out to him: "Mr. Macron told me he could be your big brother." Visibly surprised, Gabriel Attal asked for more details. A chaperone corrected the child, explaining that the president had said, "I've worked with him so much that he could be my little brother." Intrigued, Gabriel Attal then asked, "Did he mention me?" but received no further information.
A Working and Trusting Relationship
These light exchanges show the complicity and closeness between Emmanuel Macron and Gabriel Attal. Since the start of their collaboration, Gabriel Attal has established himself as a loyal ally of the president. His rapid appointment as Prime Minister testifies to the confidence that Emmanuel Macron places in him.
A Day of Memory and Tributes
This informal meeting took place as part of a day of important commemorations. Emmanuel Macron also paid tribute to the inhabitants of the island of Sein, in Finistère, who had joined General de Gaulle in supporting Free France during the Second World War.
These moments of memory and recognition illustrate the importance of historical heritage and human relations within government, highlighting the particular dynamic between the president and his Prime Minister, often perceived as fraternal.
