For the holiday season, Mont Saint-Michel is launching a magical new tradition. Until January 4, 2026, the famous Normandy site will be adorned with a thousand lights and offer a unique immersive experience, blending art installations, storytelling walks, and light shows. This inaugural edition, entitled "Worlds and Wonders," is sure to enchant visitors of all ages.
A guided night walk by lantern
As night falls, visitors are invited to discover the Mont from a unique perspective: by the flickering light of lanterns, guided by a storyteller. In the winter silence, the narrow streets of the medieval village become the setting for a poetic stroll, blending history, legends, and emotions.
The route is structured around several pauses, where stories and observations intertwine, punctuated by the interplay of light and shadow that adorns the granite walls. Each step draws walkers closer to a parallel universe, suspended between reality and imagination. Far from the usual tourist bustle, the Mont becomes intimate, almost secret.
A magical scenography in the colors of the sea
Dedicated to the ocean, this inaugural edition also features a series of ephemeral light installations inspired by the sea. Suspended fish, floating bubbles, and animated projections transform the ramparts and alleyways into a veritable living tableau. The stones, bathed in shifting colors, seem to vibrate to the rhythm of the illuminations orchestrated by Compagnie Bretonne Spectaculaire, specialists in monumental projections.
Between walks, visitors can also enjoy a cultural program accessible to all: concerts, readings, and performances enrich the experience. All events are free, with prior registration, to allow as many people as possible to enjoy this enchanting interlude.
