A 26-year-old man was shot and killed Saturday morning in Pointe-à-Pitre, just days after the New Year. According to initial findings, the victim was targeted during an attempted jewelry robbery. A second man, aged 25 and present at the time of the incident, was injured by a gunshot, but his life is not in danger.

This is the first homicide recorded in Guadeloupe since the beginning of 2026.
