Justin Bieber joins Madonna, Shakira and BTS for the first halftime show in World Cup final history

Justin Bieber officially joins Madonna, Shakira and BTS on the lineup for the halftime show of the 2026 World Cup final. The Canadian singer will be among the headliners of this unique show, scheduled for July 19 at the New York New Jersey Stadium, in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

FIFA and Global Citizen had already announced Madonna, Shakira, and BTS for this event, presented as the first true halftime show ever held at a World Cup final. The addition of Justin Bieber further enhances a lineup designed for a global audience.

Madonna, Shakira, BTS and Bieber on the same stage

The show will bring together four of the biggest names in international pop. Madonna will bring her status as an American icon, Shakira will return to a world she knows well after several anthems associated with world football, BTS will represent K-pop before a global audience, and Justin Bieber will complete this lineup with his repertoire of international hits.

Other artists and acts will also participate in the show. Burna Boy, Gustavo Dudamel, and the PS22 Chorus are announced, with Coldplay also making an appearance. Chris Martin, the lead singer of the British band, is in charge of the performance's artistic direction.

A format inspired by major American shows

This halftime show is expected to last approximately eleven minutes. The format is similar to the large-scale shows produced during major American sporting events, with a stage designed for television, stadiums, and international broadcasting.

The 2026 World Cup final will be one of the most-watched events of the year. It will be played at New York New Jersey Stadium, home of the Giants and Jets in the NFL. For FIFA, this spectacle marks an evolution in the presentation of its most high-profile match.

A sporting final transformed into a cultural event

The show will also be associated with the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, a program designed to finance access to education and football for children around the world. The stated goal is to raise $100 million.

With Justin Bieber, Madonna, Shakira, BTS, Burna Boy, Gustavo Dudamel, the PS22 Chorus, and Coldplay involved in the project, the 2026 World Cup final will not only be the last match of the tournament. It is also shaping up to be one of the biggest televised music events of the year.
