After the announcement of Loana's death, Jean-Édouard spoke with emotion. A former contestant on Loft and ex-partner of the reality TV star on the show, he confided his sadness and looked back on the difficult last years of the woman who had marked an entire generation of viewers.
"We'd been expecting it for a long time, but even in these situations, it's still a shock. I'm the first to be saddened by it, because Loana's life is truly tragic.", did he declare.
"Cyril Hanouna wasn't doing her any favors by inviting her. She couldn't even speak."
Jean-Édouard also revisited one of Loana's last television appearances, in 2021, on the set of Do not touch My TV. A passage that had deeply affected him, to the point of denouncing at the time the media exposure of a woman whom he considered already very vulnerable.
"She was recovering from yet another overdose, she was in a terrible state. I told her exactly what I thought, in a rather kind way: she belonged in rehab, not on a TV set. I also told Cyril Hanouna that he wasn't doing her any favors by inviting her. She couldn't even speak."
In his statements, Jean-Édouard also mentions Loana's inner circle, her addictions, and the helplessness of those who tried to help her over the years. He reveals a deep bitterness at the solitude she seemed to be experiencing recently.s: "Loana had a lot of bad influences. She had addictions and demons... They caught up with her. Everyone tried to reach out to her. Certainly others more than me, that's for sure... But she said she had friends. Where have they been lately?"
