This is sure to cause a stir! Just one week before the municipal elections, Benjamin Duhamel joins the political team at France Télévisions. (DR)

With the municipal elections just a week away and the presidential election a little over a year away, Benjamin Duhamel will strengthen his presence within the France Télévisions group. The France Inter journalist will participate in major political coverage on France 2 during the upcoming elections.

An appearance has been announced for the municipal election night coverage on France 2.

The journalist will be seated at the table alongside Léa Salamé and Laurent Delahousse. He will provide analysis of the political dynamics of the election and comment on the results throughout the evening.

The public channel is thus continuing its strategy of relying on identified political journalists to accompany major election nights, a system regularly highlighted during national and local elections.

Benjamin Duhamel was also announced to appear on the political program "L'heure de vérité" (The Moment of Truth).

Beyond the municipal elections, Benjamin Duhamel is also expected to appear in the major new political program that France Télévisions is preparing for the presidential campaign. The program, titled The hour of truth, must bring together several journalists to interview the candidates and analyze the issues at stake in the election.

In this program, Benjamin Duhamel will participate alongside Caroline Roux and Marc-Olivier Fogiel.

The choice of this title refers to an iconic political program broadcast in the 1980s on Antenne 2, which regularly featured leading political figures of the time. France Télévisions thus hopes to revive an in-depth political interview format in the run-up to the next presidential election.

While many have been denouncing the Duhamel clan's stranglehold on the media for years, this transfer is not going to silence the controversies…
