Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky Ukraine was warned on Wednesday that Russia was preparing new waves of drone attacks against Ukraine, stating that more than 100 drones were already in Ukrainian airspace. According to Kyiv, Moscow is now changing its strategy by conducting an increasing number of strikes in broad daylight.
In a message posted on the social network X, Zelensky accused Russia of deliberately targeting Ukrainian civilian and railway infrastructure. He denounced the attacks as carried out with "brazen audacity," while fighting continues to intensify on several fronts.
Since the start of the war more than four years ago, Russian forces had primarily conducted their drone and missile strikes at night. But in recent weeks, Moscow has stepped up its daytime offensives, sometimes involving hundreds of drones and missiles simultaneously.
According to Ukrainian authorities, Russia even broke a record on March 24 for the number of weapons used in a single attack. These daytime strikes are further disrupting the daily lives of residents and complicating civilian movement in several major cities across the country.
In Kharkiv, firefighters recently responded to a Russian drone strike on a gas station. Local authorities continue to report damage to civilian infrastructure in several Ukrainian regions.
In response to this tactical shift, Zelensky called on Ukraine's allies to maintain their military and political support. "It is important to repel every attack with resilience," the Ukrainian president stated, also urging the international community not to remain silent in the face of the ongoing war.
