Northeastern Spain was hit by torrential rains overnight from Friday to Saturday, injuring at least eleven people. The severe weather forced authorities to evacuate a campsite and a nightclub. Some areas recorded more than 100 liters of rain per square meter, an exceptional volume that saturated the ground and caused significant property damage.
A wall collapsed and several people were seriously injured.
Three people were injured when a wall collapsed under the pressure of the water. One of them is in serious condition. Emergency services carried out numerous operations throughout the night to assist those affected by the exceptional rainfall.
Local authorities remain mobilized to assess the extent of the damage and prevent any further collapses. The weather remains under close observation in this region, which is particularly prone to intense rainfall during this summer period.
