The Canal+ Icon Award was presented to Adam Scott at the Louis Lumière Auditorium in the Palais des Festivals on Sunday, April 26, on the sidelines of the Canneseries festival. The 53-year-old American actor, who rose to fame with Parks and Recreation before establishing himself as a major figure on television thanks to Severance, struggled to accept the label "icon." "I hope it doesn't just mean I'm old… In my mind, I'm still an actor looking for work," he told Le Monde, interviewed a few hours before the ceremony. He also gave a masterclass during the festival.

A speech for Naomi, a surprise from Amy Poehler

In his acceptance speech, Adam Scott reserved his most heartfelt tribute for his wife Naomi, with whom he has shared his life for years and co-founded the production company Great Scott Productions in 2012. "My wife Naomi is someone without whom none of this would be possible. She gives me the confidence to keep going, the inspiration once I'm there, and the intelligence for what comes next," he declared to the Cannes audience. Referring to his long months of filming "running up and down white corridors"—a direct reference to Severance—he emphasized that it is Naomi who "manages things at home, with teenagers and our silly dogs, while also running our bustling production company." "This award is at least three-quarters yours, Naomi," he concluded, to thunderous applause. Before the trophy presentation, a surprise awaited the actor: a video message from his former on-screen partner Amy Poehler, with whom he shared the screen on Parks and Recreation for over five years. "Congratulations to my on-screen husband, father of my triplets and a true icon in my eyes, forever and ever," she said, her mock French accent eliciting laughter from the audience.

Hokum in theaters, Severance and Big Little Lies in preparation

Adam Scott is currently starring in the horror film Hokum, released on April 29th. He is then preparing to reprise his role in season 3 of Severance and in the sequel to Big Little Lies, the release dates of which are still unknown.
