The social crisis shaking France 3 Île-de-France has reached a new level. Yesterday, the regional station's journalists' association announced the adoption of a motion of no confidence targeting several France Télévisions executives, including Delphine Ernotte-Cunci, president of the public broadcasting group. According to figures released by the journalists' association, the vote saw a 76% turnout and 93% of respondents rejecting the question posed to the journalists. The vote implicated Yolaine Poletti-Duflo, regional director, Christophe Poullain, director of the France 3 network, and Delphine Ernotte-Cunci.
A strike began on March 2nd around a studio reassigned to Franceinfo.
The conflict stems from a management decision that sparked outrage among the newsroom. Journalists at France 3 Île-de-France went on strike on March 2nd to protest the allocation, effective March 24th, of the studio used for the midday and evening news broadcasts to the 24-hour news channel Franceinfo, also part of the France Télévisions group. This reorganization is at the heart of the ongoing labor dispute that has persisted for several weeks.
Production conditions deemed incompatible with regional newspapers
In the text of the motion, the journalists describe a direct deterioration in their working conditions since the loss of their usual studio. They write: "We are forced to present the regional editions in a tiny 12m² space that usually serves as a backup studio. A space completely unsuitable for 35-minute news programs, features, and guests."The editorial team believes that its current working tool is no longer suitable for the normal production of its regional editions.
A question of trust posed to the hierarchy of France Télévisions
The vote, conducted among approximately 60 journalists, focused on explicit wording. The question submitted to the editorial staff was as follows: "Do you trust Yolaine Poletti-Duflo, regional director, Christophe Poullain, director of the France 3 network, and Delphine Ernotte-Cunci, president of France Télévisions, to guarantee the preservation of technical resources, the editorial line, and the future within the France 3 Île-de-France network?" The overwhelmingly negative result reflects a clear rejection of the managerial and technical strategy denounced by the editorial staff.
The social movement has already had consequences on the airwaves.
This mobilization has not been without concrete effects on programming. The conflict has notably led to the cancellation of two election night broadcasts scheduled for the first and second rounds of the municipal elections. This demonstrates that the protests have already disrupted the channel's local event coverage.
A three-month interim solution that does not reassure the editorial staff
Management presents the current setup as a temporary solution. The motion text mentions a three-month "transition" before the newsroom is integrated into another studio, this time without a set. But this prospect does not quell the criticism. Abdelaali Joudi, a representative of the SNJ union, explained: "However, it will have to be shared with the overseas journalist teams (Réunion La Première, Martinique La Première, etc.), sometimes with only 8 minutes to take over from the previous team."For the strikers, this future organization therefore solves neither the question of resources nor that of the fluidity of production.
Delphine Ernotte-Cunci directly targeted
The fact that Delphine Ernotte-Cunci is directly mentioned in the motion gives this affair a scope that extends beyond the local level. The president of France Télévisions was reappointed by Arcom on May 14, 2025, for a five-year term beginning August 22, 2025. This motion of no confidence reveals significant internal tension within the public broadcasting service, at a time when issues of governance, newsroom organization, and technical resources remain particularly sensitive.
At the time of the initial reports, France Télévisions management had not made an immediate comment on this motion of no confidence.
