Benjamin Castaldi pays tribute to Loana: “We are all a little responsible. She embodied a raw innocence in a world that forgives nothing.”

Following the announcement of Loana's death, Benjamin Castaldi took to Instagram to pay tribute to the memory of someone who will remain one of the most iconic figures of French television. Loft Story, which he presented on M6. The presenter published a long, personal and serious text, in which he evokes both the television revolution embodied by Loana and the collective responsibility in the face of its destiny.

Here is his full statement:

"There are faces that one never forgets."

And hers, Loana's, is part of our collective history. We thought we were watching a TV show.

In reality, what we were witnessing was a revolution.

The first one. The real one. The one that changed television forever… and perhaps also our view of humanity.

Loana was not a character.

She was a woman. A real one. With her flaws, her gentleness, her exposed fragility.

And that's precisely why we loved it.

But that's also why we abandoned her.

We applauded his light… without protecting his shadow.

We consumed its authenticity… without considering the price it would pay.

We watched her live, love, fall… without ever really wondering who would pick her up after.

The truth is, we're all a little bit responsible.

Because we all watched it.

Because we all commented.

Because we've all, at some point, looked away when things got too hard.

She embodied a raw innocence in a world that forgives nothing.

And we weren't able to live up to what she gave us.

Today, more than just a television memory remains.

An emotion remains. An awkwardness. A regret.

The feeling of not having been human enough towards someone who was profoundly human.

So yes…

We lived through a revolution together.

But perhaps we've forgotten the most important thing along the way:

Behind the phenomenon… there was a woman.
