Benjamin Castaldi reacted strongly on Wednesday during the W9 show "Tout beau tout n9uf" to Matthieu Delormeau's statements. A few hours earlier, the former TPMP panelist had been a guest on Faustine Bollaert's show " Ça commence aujourd'hui ," where he recounted his descent into drug use, his cocaine and GHB use, as well as his time working with Cyril Hanouna . This particularly dark account of those years provoked a strong reaction from Castaldi.

“He’s right to say what he thinks ,” Benjamin Castaldi conceded initially. Before adding: “I always have a bit of trouble with those who bite the hand that feeds them.”

Castaldi criticizes Delormeau for forgetting what Hanouna brought him.

Benjamin Castaldi believes that Matthieu Delormeau now recounts his years with Cyril Hanouna mainly through his bad memories, whereas the presenter offered him a central place on television for years.

Castaldi emphasizes that Delormeau had several opportunities to leave permanently but chose to return: "He left, he came back." And he draws a conclusion from this: "I think we should be a little bit grateful."

Matthieu Delormeau joined Touche pas à mon poste in 2015, after leaving NRJ 12. He quickly became one of the show's most prominent commentators. Despite several breaks with the program, he returned to work with Cyril Hanouna on numerous occasions.

Delormeau now recounts his years with Hanouna through his descent into drug addiction

This is what prompted Castaldi's reaction. On Faustine Bollaert's show, Matthieu Delormeau devoted a large part of his testimony to the period when his life spiraled into drug addiction. He recounts a period of depression, followed by daily cocaine and GHB use, leading to near-total isolation.

The former columnist explained that he had reached a considerable level of cocaine consumption and spent several thousand euros a month on drugs. He also recounted the physical, psychological, professional, and financial consequences of this addiction.

Delormeau directly links this period to his departure from television. He recounts having told Cyril Hanouna that he wanted to quit and explains today that this decision precipitated his isolation. Without work and without the daily rhythm of the show, he found himself alone at home, during a period when drugs were playing an increasingly important role in his life.

He had already told Cyril Hanouna about the extent of his cocaine addiction , going so far as to explain that he could no longer perform certain everyday actions without using.

Delormeau has been making numerous snide remarks since his falling out with Hanouna

Wednesday's testimony is not without merit. Since his departure from Cyril Hanouna, Matthieu Delormeau has repeatedly settled scores with his former life on TPMP , mentioning the humiliations, the difficulties he experienced on the show, and his complicated relationship with his former boss.

This accumulation of incidents had already provoked Cyril Hanouna's anger before the summer. The presenter had publicly reprimanded Delormeau , reminding him: "It's true that we're the ones who brought Matthieu back into the spotlight."

Hanouna had given him a particularly explicit warning: "He needs to remember who gave him a helping hand." On August 31, Matthieu Delormeau finally announced that he would not be returning to Cyril Hanouna's side this season.

Castaldi assumes his loyalty to Hanouna

Benjamin Castaldi, however, has also experienced departures and disagreements with Cyril Hanouna. He left TPMP in 2023 after seven years on the show. But this summer he chose to rejoin Hanouna on W9 . And unlike Delormeau, Castaldi publicly affirms his loyalty to his former boss, now his new host: "I'm quite loyal, Cyril is my friend."
