When questioned about his opposition to the National Rally, Elie Semoun first explained that he defined himself primarily as an opponent of La France Insoumise. He stated, very directly, “Listen, I’m going to answer you like a politician. I’m primarily an opponent of LFI. I’m truly sorry for the listeners who tune in and like me. But frankly, I can’t stand this blatant anti-Semitism. So I really, really struggle with this party.”

The exchange then took an even more explicit turn when the journalist asked him if he considered La France Insoumise more dangerous than the Rassemblement National. To this question, Elie Semoun answered unequivocally in the affirmative: “Yes. Listen, yes. If I have to answer your question, and I’m answering you sincerely, I’m really afraid of the mess organized by LFI. For me, it’s not a democracy. It doesn’t look like a democracy.”
