American singer Rihanna and her husband A$AP Rocky were spotted on March 21st in Épinal, in the Vosges region of France. Initially interpreted as a sign of a possible concert project, their visit could actually be explained by an interest in an architect-designed villa located in the hills above the town.
A selfie that caused the buzz
It all started with a photo posted on social media. On Saturday, March 21, on the platform of Épinal train station, Charles Petit captured his encounter with Rihanna. In the picture, the star appears in leather and sunglasses, alongside the 22-year-old, a programmer for the company Omega Spectacles.
The post initially sparked disbelief. Many internet users thought it was a hoax, an AI-generated image, or an April Fool's joke published a few days early. But as the hours passed, the doubt faded: Rihanna was indeed visiting the Vosges prefecture, accompanied by her husband A$AP Rocky and their bodyguard.
No projects with Omega Spectacles
The presence of Charles Petit in the photo quickly fueled an initial hypothesis: that of a possible artistic project between Rihanna and Omega Spectacles, a promoter of concerts and shows in Épinal and its region.
This possibility was, however, unequivocally dismissed by Christophe Petit, founder and director of the company. He stated that no collaboration with the singer is planned. According to him, the encounter was purely coincidental: his son was simply waiting for the same train as the couple. He noted that his company has already worked with Pierre Garnier and violinist Esther Abrami, while acknowledging that Rihanna operates on a completely different level.
The possibility of a real estate project
One question remains: what were Rihanna and A$AP Rocky doing in Épinal? The town's new mayor, Benoît Jourdain, offers a theory. According to local rumors, the singer may have come to view a property located in the hills above the town.
It is believed to be a 1950s architect-designed villa, created by a student of Jean Prouvé. The property, a listed historical monument, has fueled speculation for several days regarding a possible real estate project linked to the couple.
A visit still shrouded in uncertainty
At this stage, no official confirmation has emerged regarding the exact reasons for Rihanna and A$AP Rocky's visit to the Vosges region. One thing seems certain, however: their presence in Épinal had nothing to do with preparing for a show.
In the absence of a statement from the couple, the real estate angle remains a hypothesis, but it now appears to be the most credible. A week after this surprise appearance, the visit continues to generate discussion far beyond Épinal.
