It’s definitely a historic day for the French Olympic team! After the gold medals of Teddy Riner in judo and Léon Marchand in swimming, Joris Daudet, Sylvain André and Romain Mahieu achieved an incredible hat-trick by taking the first three places during the BMX Race final.
This feat is all the more historic as French BMX has never won a medal at the Olympic Games for men. It has also been 100 years since three French people had occupied the three steps of the podium at the Summer Olympics, since the hat-trick of Albert Seguin, Jean Gounot and François Gangloff in gymnastics.
