French swimming icon Laure Manaudou has brought a smile to her social media followers with a quirky appeal. The athlete is trying to get her hands on a copy of her own book, which is currently nowhere to be found at home, to help her daughter with a school assignment.
An unexpected request on Instagram
On Instagram, Laure Manaudou explained that her 15-year-old daughter Manon was due to write a high school presentation on her mother's autobiography. The problem: the former swimmer no longer has a copy of her book. Faced with this situation, she asked her community to lend her the book for the time needed to allow Manon to prepare her assignment.
Published in 2014 by Michel Lafon, Between the lines traces the exceptional career of Laure Manaudou, her victories in the pool, but also the more intimate moments of her life. The book evokes in particular her beginnings, her relationship with coach Philippe Lucas, the media pressure and the significant episodes of her sporting and personal journey.
Laure Manaudou says she's looking for a copy in the Arcachon Bay area, where she lives. Her request is urgent: her daughter's report is due on Monday. The former swimmer doesn't want to get the book back permanently, but simply borrow it for the duration of the school year.
