Sarkis's gift to France: a statue of Saint Charbel unveiled in Nice

The sanctuary of Our Lady of Laghet, near Nice, now houses a statue of Saint Charbel, donated by the Lebanese businessman and philanthropist Sarkis Sarkis. This initiative, both spiritual and symbolic, marks a new stage in the international renown of the Maronite saint, whose fame has long since extended beyond the borders of Lebanon.

Located within this important pilgrimage site on the French Riviera, the statue offers worshippers and visitors a new space for contemplation. It also testifies to the desire to strengthen spiritual ties between Lebanon and France, a country that hosts a large Lebanese community.

The inauguration took place in the presence of approximately 300 Lebanese people from Nice, Cannes, and Monaco. This strong turnout illustrated the diaspora's attachment to its roots and religious heritage, as well as the universality of the message conveyed by Saint Charbel, based on prayer, hope, and peace.

This achievement is a continuation of Sarkis Sarkis's commitment to Christian religious heritage. For several years, he has supported the construction and restoration of churches, participated in the development of shrines in Lebanon, and also supported projects for Christian communities in the diaspora. His goal is to preserve the spiritual identity of Lebanese communities while promoting Lebanon's religious heritage internationally.

With this statue, a gift to France, Sarkis Sarkis also wishes to pay tribute to a country historically linked to Lebanon. The presence of Saint Charbel at Notre-Dame de Laghet will allow thousands of pilgrims to discover a major figure of Eastern spirituality, whose numerous testimonies of faith and healings have contributed to his worldwide renown.

Beyond its religious dimension, this initiative appears as a gesture of friendship between France and Lebanon. Through this offering, Sarkis Sarkis reminds us that dialogue between peoples also involves culture, heritage, and spirituality, making this statue a lasting symbol of hope and fraternity.
