Lalit Patidar, an 18-year-old Indian boy from Madhya Pradesh, has just entered the Guinness Book of Records as the person with the hairiest face in the world. Suffering from hypertrichosis, an extremely rare genetic disorder, he has dense facial hair, earning him the nickname “werewolf boy.”
A rare and incurable disease
Hypertrichosis is a disorder that causes excessive hair growth all over the body, including the face. Only about fifty people worldwide are thought to be affected. There is currently no definitive treatment, and even waxing or shaving are not enough to stop rapid hair regrowth.
Since childhood, Lalit has had to deal with teasing and curious looks, but he has learned to accept his difference. “When I was little, people called me a monkey or were afraid of me. But today, I feel special and unique,” he says proudly.
A message of tolerance
Despite his uniqueness, Lalit leads a normal life and dreams of becoming a YouTuber and motivational speaker. He wants to inspire others to accept themselves as they are and not let physical differences define their worth.
His entry into the Guinness Book of Records is an important recognition and allows him to make his message heard: “We are all beautiful in our own way, you just have to have confidence in yourself.”
