In Gironde, the gendarmes of the Mios motorized platoon received a rather surprising postcard. Entitled “Bons baisers de Phuket”, it was sent from Thailand, probably by a motorist caught breaking the law and whose driving license was suspended for four months.
The message, tinged with irony, did not fail to provoke a reaction from the police, who shared this anecdote on social networks. "Four months may seem long, but when you spend them in the sun, it's easier. Afterwards, we can't blame you, we don't teach you discernment," it reads.
The police, amused but lucid, did not fail to highlight the author's humor (and frustration): "At least he is sure not to drive in France," they joked, while sending a clear message to their interlocutor: "See you when he returns, and let him know the dates of his next vacation. We will be waiting for him, well equipped with our binoculars, our breathalyzer and our drug screening kit."
While the humor is there, it is not certain that this little wink was the wisest idea of the year. The police, for their part, will visibly remain ready for the next check.
