Public transport in the Île-de-France region will experience significant disruptions this summer due to major construction projects announced by Île-de-France Mobilités. These works, with a budget of approximately €4 billion for 2026, aim to modernize infrastructure and prepare for future connections with the Grand Paris Express network.
Several metro lines will be partially or completely disrupted during the summer, including lines 4, 8, 12, and 13, while the RER will also be affected by numerous closures and service reductions. Major stations, such as Nation and Gare de Lyon, will undergo significant construction work, resulting in temporary service disruptions.
Widespread disruptions across the entire network
RER lines A, B, and C will be affected by disruptions lasting several weeks, while work on the rail and tramway networks will also lead to extended closures. Track and switch renewal operations are planned at key points in the network.
In response to these disruptions, authorities recommend that users plan their journeys in advance, prioritize teleworking, or use alternative modes of transport such as cycling and carpooling. Alternative routes will be offered to minimize the impact on daily commutes.
