Saturday, August 1st, is expected to be a particularly challenging day for motorists. Bison Futé (the French traffic information service) has classified traffic as extremely heavy (black) for departures and forecasts "extremely difficult" conditions on all major French roads.
Traffic congestion is expected on routes leading to the Atlantic coast, the Southwest, central France, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, and the Mediterranean coast. The first delays are expected early in the morning and could continue into the early evening.
The A6 and A10 motorways are under particularly close surveillance.
In the Île-de-France region, traffic is expected to be very heavy from Friday night into Saturday. Traffic on the A6 and A10 motorways will increase sharply in the morning, reaching its peak around midday, before a gradual improvement expected during the afternoon.
For return journeys, traffic is classified as difficult. Slowdowns are expected to intensify from mid-morning on the Atlantic coast, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and around the Mediterranean, then persist until the end of the afternoon.
