Taxpayers living in departments numbered 20 to 54 have until Thursday, May 28th at 23:59 PM to submit their income tax returns online. This new deadline affects several million French citizens, following the first set of deadlines applied last week to departments numbered 01 to 19.
This particularly concerns residents of Haute-Garonne, Gironde, Hérault, Loire-Atlantique, Finistère, Isère, Corse-du-Sud, and Haute-Corse. Taxpayers can still modify their tax return until final validation, even after an initial signature.
A surcharge will be applied in case of delay.
As every year, the tax authorities remind taxpayers that any delay in filing results in financial penalties. A tax return filed after the deadline automatically exposes the taxpayer to a 10% surcharge on the amount of tax due, in accordance with the General Tax Code.
The 2025 income tax return campaign began on April 9th. Deadlines remain staggered across different departments to avoid overloading tax offices and online platforms.
