OpenAI is looking to expand its presence in the electronics industry by partnering with Jony Ive, the iconic former Apple designer. Sam Altman, the company’s CEO, has spoken about the prospect of designing new AI-powered devices alongside Ive, which could lead to a technological revolution comparable to the launch of the iPhone.
The company is reportedly considering developing various products, including smartphones, smart glasses and other AI-related equipment. OpenAI is also exploring the creation of a team of robots and conducting tests on humanoids.
The project could receive funding from SoftBank, boosting the chances of a smart device emerging that can compete with giants like Apple and Samsung.
