Study explores role of artificial intelligence in global conflict resolution, highlights need for unified standards

Le Trends research and consulting center has published a new study, “Artificial Intelligence-Powered Diplomacy: The Role of AI in Global Conflict Resolution,” offering a comprehensive view of how AI can be harnessed to improve international negotiations and strengthen prospects for peace, while emphasizing ethical and regulatory considerations to ensure responsible use of this advanced technology.

Conducted by Nour Al Mazrouei, head of the Artificial Intelligence program at the Trends Center, the study explores how smart technologies have become a key element in the evolution of global diplomacy. AI is playing an increasingly important role in analyzing data, improving communication, and developing diplomatic strategies.

The study also highlights the many benefits offered by this technology, including the ability to quickly and accurately analyze big data, improve instant translation during international meetings, and support decision-making in times of global crisis.

However, it also highlights the major challenges facing AI-assisted diplomacy, such as the risks of algorithmic bias, the difficulty of adaptation in certain diplomatic contexts and the ethical questions linked to the use of technology in sensitive decisions.

The study calls for the establishment of international legal and regulatory frameworks that guarantee the responsible use of AI in the diplomatic arena, so that it remains a tool for peace, and not a factor that complicates conflicts.

She concludes that the future of diplomacy will see a further integration of AI into decision-making processes, while emphasizing the need to preserve the role of humans in ensuring justice and transparency in conflict resolution.

Finally, the study recommends intensifying research on the impact of AI on international relations and highlights the need for international cooperation to establish unified standards for the effective use of AI in the service of global stability.
