Samsung close to finalizing smart glasses with contactless control

It appears that South Korean company Samsung is close to completing development of its long-rumored smart glasses project, known as "Project HAEAN."

The company is currently finalizing the specifications of the device, which now includes a built-in screen, marking a notable shift from initial plans that leaned toward a screenless, wearable extended reality device.

According to a report by the website "Mashable", citing "ETNews" and consulted by "Al Arabiya Business", the glasses were designed to display visual content directly on the lenses.

They will also integrate headphones for audio feedback, with the aim of providing a seamless user experience, hands-free and without reliance on buttons or remote controls.

Samsung first announced the development of smart glasses at the Unpacked event earlier this year, talking about a product designed to look as natural and discreet as possible.

The company reportedly wants to "adapt the experience to the human body," although what this means in concrete terms remains unclear.

While previous leaks suggested the device would be screenless, this new report indicates that Samsung may have finally changed its mind.

The glasses are also expected to integrate some features of Google's Gemini AI platform, which could make HAEAN a key player in the emerging race for AI dominance in wearable devices.

No official launch date has been set for "HAEAN" yet, but according to a well-known leaker on the X platform (formerly Twitter), Samsung is aiming for a presentation before the end of 2025.
