American company "Anthropic", a competitor of OpenAI (with ChatGPT), is launching a new model of its program based on artificial intelligence, promising to save a lot of time for IT developers, as the competition for AI-based assistance programs continues.
Jared Kaplan, co-founder of Anthropic, told Agence France-Presse that "Claude 3.7 Sonnet" is "much better" for encrypting programs.
He stressed that the most important element is that it is a "hybrid" model, adding "it can provide immediate answers to any question", like the previous version 3.5, launched in September, "but takes its time to answer more complex topics".
This makes the "Claude" program better able to follow instructions, write longer documents or perform more complex analyses, according to Kaplan.
The year 2023 saw a race for competing programs to ChatGPT. Since then, AI-based assistance tools have acquired capabilities related to understanding and even producing images and sounds (multimedia), and are beginning to acquire characteristics related to logic and independence.
OpenAI was again a pioneer by launching the o1 model in September, the first model with logic, meaning it presents the steps of its "thinking" before arriving at an answer.
However, the company "Anthropic", founded in 2021 by former OpenAI employees, has surpassed it in terms of independence by launching "Computer Use" in October, an abstract feature that allows "Claude" to use a computer like a human, that is, to browse the Internet, click on websites, type text and use various programs.
