Patrick Bruel was placed in custody On Monday morning, at the Paris police headquarters, the singer and actor was questioned as part of investigations into allegations of rape, attempted rape, sexual assault, and sexual harassment. The Nanterre prosecutor's office indicated that the cases under investigation currently involve 13 alleged victims. His detention can last up to 48 hours. The purpose of the questioning is to address several known complaints, as well as new reports recently added to the case file.
Two new rape complaints
Two women filed new rape complaints on May 27 and June 3. The first is Florima Treiber, a former Miss Alsace, who accuses Patrick Bruel of raping her in April 2008. The second is a physiotherapist named Séverine, who alleges a rape committed in May 2000. Patrick Bruel denies these accusations.
These two complaints add to an already substantial legal case, in which several women accuse the singer of acts that allegedly span several decades.
Flavie Flament accuses him of rape when she was a teenager
Patrick Bruel is also the subject of a complaint filed by Flavie Flament. The television presenter accuses him of rape in Paris in 1991, when she was a teenager. The singer has denied the allegations, claiming that their relationship was not "Neither violent, nor coercive, nor underhanded."
An investigation has been reopened in the Ophélie Fajfer case.
The Nanterre prosecutor's office has also reopened an investigation after a rape complaint filed by Ophélie Fajfer was dismissed in 2022. The alleged events date back to 2015, when she was 19 years old. Her lawyer, Myriam Guedj Benayoun, welcomed the resumption of the investigation, stating that the justice system must continue its work.
The facts are being examined in France and Belgium.
Patrick Bruel's hearing also relates to a complaint forwarded by Belgian authorities, following a complaint alleging rape and sexual assault that were committed in Brussels in 2010 against a woman who was then 40 years old.
Patrick Bruel denies the allegations against him. He maintains that he never forced anyone into a sexual relationship and says he wants to let the justice system do its work.
