Amine "Prime" Mekri, one of the esports club's co-founders, has announced his departure from the organization following serious accusations revealed by XXI magazine. The investigation by XXI magazine, published this Friday, sheds light on a "secret" meeting that allegedly took place in November 2024. Kamel "Kameto" Kebir, the other co-founder, reportedly met with several former Prime employees to gather their testimonies. Among the grievances mentioned: unpaid wages, wrongful dismissals, and above all, "inappropriate behavior," including alleged sexual blackmail.
One of the women involved clarified the situation on Instagram, alleging harassment by Prime. The article also mentions the tragic case of a former employee who committed suicide after being "burdened with debt." While his death is not directly linked to Prime, his mother believes that "his dealings with Karmine Corp paved the way for him to commit the irreparable."
The cascade reaction
Faced with the media storm, Prime released a statement on his social media accounts Friday evening. He claims to have "discovered today the allegations made against [him]" and calls them "completely false and contrary to [his] values." Despite his denials, he announced he is "stepping back from Karmine Corp" until "the matter is fully investigated."
A few minutes later, Karmine Corp released its own statement, clarifying that "the individuals mentioned in the article were not Karmine Corp employees" and that "the company was not involved in the legal proceedings cited." This attempt at distancing themselves may not be enough to quell the anger of fans, many of whom are demanding answers on social media.
