Greg Guillotin has been at the center of a major domestic violence scandal for the past few days. His former partner, with whom he lived between 2019 and 2026, filed a complaint on June 17th for domestic violence and harassment . She alleges several years of physical and psychological abuse, insults, humiliation, constant surveillance, and a situation of control.
Since then, particularly damning new evidence has come to light. Videos that were not made public show his former partner with black eyes, bruises on her wrist, a bruise approximately 25 centimeters long on her thigh, and significant marks on her neck. Other scenes described include a bed deliberately flooded while she was ill, belongings thrown out of a window, a broken phone, and a laptop violently slammed shut on her hands.
Faced with overwhelming evidence, Greg Guillotin had no choice but to confess to all the charges. He admits to having inflicted physical and psychological abuse on his former partner and to having been violent on several occasions. "I hit a woman, several times ," he acknowledged. Cyril Hanouna , who produced his show, has since announced that he no longer wishes to continue their collaboration. Greg Guillotin, whose belated mea culpa is hardly credible, is now clearly trying to portray himself as a victim. But the damage is done, and the sincerity of his victimhood narrative is seriously questionable, especially when one delves into the past and realizes the extent to which he manipulated the public.
For over 10 years, the man who now admits to hitting his partner was never short of advice when it came to explaining to others how to behave. Respect, empathy, consent, honesty, sharing, refusal to endure suffering: Greg Guillotin launched numerous campaigns and made countless moral pronouncements. In light of what he now admits, some of these pronouncements have become terribly embarrassing, revealing that, in addition to being violent, Greg Guillotin is also a liar, a manipulator, and a complete hypocrite.
2015: Greg Guillotin denounces the suffering inflicted on monkeys sent to laboratories
As early as 2015, Greg Guillotin used his notoriety to defend vulnerable beings. He participated in a PETA campaign asking Air France to stop transporting monkeys destined for animal experimentation and denounced the suffering inflicted upon them.
The comedian thus began to build a public image based on compassion and a rejection of violence. In addition to entertaining the public, he explained which behaviors should be rejected when they cause suffering to others.

January 2016: he calls for the animals not to be left "prisoners" of Marineland
A few months later, Greg Guillotin campaigned against the captivity of animals at Marineland. With his character Bengui and his plush dolphin Leo, he urged his audience not to support the confinement of marine animals.
The campaign is based directly on empathy. "Nobody wants to live in a fishbowl. Not Bengui, not Léo, not anyone," he explains. The principle being promoted: put yourself in the shoes of the person suffering before deciding what can be imposed on them.
The speech is perfectly virtuous. Greg Guillotin is already asking others to consider the suffering of those in a position of weakness. A few years later, however, his own confessions would reveal how incapable he was of applying this basic principle to the woman who shared his life.

March 2017: Faced with the mistreated pigs, he asks, "What did they do to deserve this?"
In 2017, Greg Guillotin participated in an L214 investigation at an intensive pig farm in Finistère. Faced with the conditions in which the animals lived, the videographer was outraged: "What did they do to deserve this?"
Once again, Greg Guillotin publicly takes the position of someone who condemns violence perpetrated by others. He calls for looking at the victim, understanding their suffering, and condemning those who inflict it. This stance will become a constant in his public pronouncements.

December 2017: "No longer subject sentient beings to what I would not want done to me."
At the end of 2017, PETA highlighted Greg Guillotin's commitment and recalled in particular the reason he gave for his veganism: "I made the choice to no longer subject sentient beings to what I would not want done to me."
This sentence is probably the one that least withstands his 2026 confessions. It indeed poses a universal moral principle of absolute simplicity: do not make others suffer what you would refuse to suffer yourself.
Greg Guillotin added at that time that "veganism is rational, logical, and uncompromising ." The comparison is just as uncompromising today. The man who claimed he no longer wanted to inflict on a sentient being what he himself wouldn't want to endure admits nine years later to having repeatedly struck the woman with whom he shared his life.
That same year, he also submitted a petition with tens of thousands of signatures denouncing certain experiments conducted on dogs. Once again, Greg Guillotin positioned himself as a defender of those who suffer and called on those responsible for these practices to change their behavior.

March 2018: with #BalanceTaFourrure, he is still giving lessons in the name of "ethics"
In 2018, Greg Guillotin participated in the #BalanceTaFourrure campaign against fur farms. Confronted with the conditions in which minks are kept and slaughtered, he openly raised the moral question: "On what ethical grounds can we justify killing an animal to make a coat or a fur collar?"
The tone once again goes beyond simple support for the association. Greg Guillotin challenges others on their behavior and directly invokes ethics. He explains what is acceptable, what is not, and where the moral boundary should be drawn.
At that time, nothing about the current case was yet known. But, in retrospect, this series of stances paints a picture of a particularly perverse and moralizing character: Greg Guillotin constantly asked others to look at their own actions and their consequences on the victims, while behaving himself in the worst possible way.

2018: He raises awareness about marital rape and reminds people that "no means no"
That same year, Greg Guillotin shifted his focus from animal protection to an issue directly related to relationships between men and women. He appeared in Consent , a short film about marital rape and respecting consent within couples.
The message leaves no room for ambiguity: "No means no, rape means rape, even within a couple." Greg Guillotin lends his face to a work explaining that sharing someone's life does not give any rights over that person and that their boundaries must be respected.
The public persona was now clearly established: Greg Guillotin explained to others the fundamental rules of a respectful relationship. But a few years later, his own confessions would reveal that he himself had violated one of these most basic principles by inflicting physical and psychological violence on his partner.

March 2020: he advocates "honesty, respect, trust, communication, support, empathy" in the couple
On March 11, 2020, the contrast became even more damning. Greg Guillotin appeared in a video from the show "Parlons peu, mais Parlons!" (Let's Talk a Little, But Let's Talk!) dedicated to the couple. His relationship with the woman who would file a complaint six years later had already begun.
The video lists the ingredients of a healthy relationship: "Honesty. Respect. Trust. Communication. Sharing. Support. Empathy. Love." It also emphasizes the need to respect one's partner's differences and independence.
The word "honesty" is particularly problematic today. Greg Guillotin participated in a video explaining how a couple should function and contributed to projecting the image of a man perfectly aligned with these principles.
The problem is that the man who had stood in front of a camera to extol respect, empathy, trust, and honesty admits to having done the exact opposite a few years later in that same relationship. The self-righteous moralizer clearly knew the rules perfectly well. He simply didn't follow them himself.

May 2020: He explains to men how to better respect the mental load of women
Just two months after his lesson on the ideal couple, Greg Guillotin participates in a new video for " Let's Talk a Little, But Let's Talk!" . This time, the topic is mental load and the imbalances between men and women in the distribution of daily tasks.
The conclusion is intended to be educational: "The idea is obviously to share the tasks." Greg Guillotin thus helps to explain to men that they must take their share and not leave the organization of the household to their partner.
The reality described today by his ex-partner is far less rosy. In her complaint, she claims that Greg Guillotin would criticize her, particularly when she was resting, when she didn't respond to his messages quickly enough, or when certain tasks weren't completed to his expectations. She also alleges that cameras in the home were used to monitor her every move.
The parallel with this video on mental load is particularly embarrassing. The man who publicly explained the imbalances women can experience in their homes is now accused by his former partner of controlling behaviors that paint a much less exemplary picture.

July 2026: Two months before his confession, he is still asking others to "open their eyes"
On June 17, 2026, Greg Guillotin's former partner filed her complaint. On July 2, while the public was still completely unaware of the case, the comedian appeared in a new campaign promoting wildlife tourism.
Greg Guillotin recounts seeing exhausted, injured mules and donkeys in Santorini, "beaten while struggling to carry tourists ." He also denounces the methods used to subdue the animals and calls on vacationers to become aware of their suffering: "We must open our eyes."
The complaint against him had already been filed when he publicly called on others to open their eyes to the violence inflicted on vulnerable people. The public, however, was still completely unaware of what was happening in his private life and the accusations made by his former partner.
Greg Guillotin continues to present himself publicly as a moral authority. He denounces those who have been "stricken" and asks others not to turn a blind eye to their suffering. Two months later, the public will finally see the consequences of his own actions. Pathetic…

September 2026: The moralizer admits to having been violent "on several occasions"
Then the fine words shattered against his own admissions. The day after the complaint was made public, Greg Guillotin acknowledged that his former partner had suffered physical and psychological abuse at his hands: "I will neither deny it nor try to justify it. I am ashamed."
He also clarifies that this is not a single incident: "At home, on several occasions, I was also violent with the person I shared my life with." Then comes the sentence that now sums up the whole affair: "I hit a woman, several times."
It was at that moment that more than 10 years of moralizing shattered. Greg Guillotin knew perfectly well how to explain to others how they should behave. He knew how to speak of empathy, respect, consent, honesty, trust, and suffering. He knew how to condemn those who strike and ask the public to look at the victims rather than avert their eyes.
But his own admissions show that he himself failed to adhere to these principles when it came to his partner. The self-righteous moralizer knew the rules. He was even quite adept at articulating them in front of a camera. Yet the reality he now acknowledges is the complete opposite of this professed morality.
This is what makes all his past lessons so damning today. For more than 10 years, Greg Guillotin showed others the behavior they were supposed to adopt, even going so far as to ask the public in July 2026 to "open their eyes" to those who have been beaten.
Two months later, his confession brutally turned the tables on him. Two sentences uttered several years apart are now enough to measure the chasm between fine words and reality: "I will no longer do to sentient beings what I would not want done to me," he said. Before admitting in September 2026: "I hit a woman, several times."
