On Wednesday, a court ordered Booba to stand trial in Paris in the cyberharassment case against Magali Berdah. The rapper is accused of participating in an online harassment campaign between May 2022 and June 2025 against the influencer agent and founder of Shauna Events. This decision marks a new stage in the high-profile case, which began after Magali Berdah filed complaints claiming she was the target of repeated attacks, hostile messages, and a barrage of posts on social media.
The events continued for over three years.
The public conflict erupted in 2022 surrounding the world of influencers. The rapper launched a campaign against certain influencers, whom he nicknamed the "Influence thieves"By denouncing their business practices, which he presented as deceptive, Magali Berdah quickly found herself at the center of this online offensive. She accused Booba of fueling massive online hate speech, with significant personal and professional consequences. The case therefore concerns not only public criticism, but also the legal classification of cyberharassment, which the court will have to examine during the trial.
Two other people sent to trial for complicity
Two other people are also being sent to trial before the Paris criminal court for complicity. They are Grégory Zaoui, known for being one of the key figures in the carbon tax fraud, and a former employee of Magali Berdah. Their alleged roles will be clarified at the hearing. The proceedings aim to determine whether these individuals participated in, facilitated, or amplified the actions reported by the plaintiff in this digital campaign.
The matter will then be settled in criminal court.
Booba will have to answer the accusations before judges in a trial whose date has yet to be set. The trial will have to decide one of the most sensitive cases involving rap, influence, and social media, with a central question: how far can a public campaign of denunciation go before crossing into criminally punishable harassment?
