This afternoon, Alain-Fabien Delon took to his Instagram account to respond to his half-brother, following what he describes as "[His] remarks and the frenzy they have generated"In a lengthy publication, he firmly disputes the accusations against him and defends the way he cares for his animals.
Alain-Fabien Delon defends the way he raises his dogs
In his message, Alain-Fabien Delon writes: "I wanted to show you my bloodthirsty dogs, which I want to turn into 'killers' according to my brother. I've never let these puppies 'rot' for 9 months. I take care of them, I train them, and when I'm away someone takes care of them."
He goes on to talk about a period he spent in Paris, when he had just become a father. “When I became a young father and we were in Paris, my niece alerted me that the person taking care of them wasn’t doing their job properly, so I took the necessary steps. When I travel, everything is in place to ensure that the dogs of ‘homeless people’ live in the best possible conditions.”
The puppies were given to him by a homeless person, according to him.
In the same publication, Alain-Fabien Delon states that these animals were entrusted to him in a particular context. “And when I’m in Douchy, they’re with me. These puppies were entrusted to me by a homeless man I helped, who wanted to give them a better life. And that’s my commitment. This constant rewriting of history to your advantage on social media is disgraceful. The person who ordered the Obba massacre accuses me of animal abuse—cut the bullshit.”
Alain-Fabien Delon also criticizes his half-brother's communication, accusing him of seeking personal visibility. “I don’t take photos in Douchy to boost my social media presence or gain followers. I’m happy to see you’ve finally found your calling as an influencer. Certainly worthy of a Delon. My father instilled in me a love for animals; he would never have had a dog put down under any circumstances. And this dog wasn’t the ‘mad killer’ you’re publicly describing to try and exonerate yourself.”
Obba's death at the heart of the family dispute
At the end of his text, Alain-Fabien Delon returns to the Obba affair, at the heart of the controversy between the two brothers. He disputes the version put forward by his half-brother and announces that he intends to let the courts decide. "You think I should 'show gratitude'? Justice will decide. There was no attempt to separate the dogs. Nor was there any attempt to provide Obba with care. Four bullets were neither necessary nor proportionate. And neither was 45 minutes of agony. Don't look for justifications in my supposed behavior, which is completely fabricated, for your act of cruelty."
He concludes by also rejecting other personal accusations made against him. "Now you want to portray me as a 'disturbed' person by fabricating this whole fire story for which I am not responsible."
