In a post published on Instagram this Friday at noon, Anthony Delon spoke out to give his side of the story regarding the case involving Loubo, Alain Delon's dog, and another dog, Obba, whom his brother Alan-Fabien accuses him of killing. In this very personal text, he recounts the context, describes the events leading up to the accident in November 2024, and addresses the controversies surrounding the case.
Here is Anthony Delon's full statement:
“On August 18, 2024, Alain Delon passed away. Loubo, his beloved dog, was left orphaned.”
He needs love, to be surrounded and protected. At 10 years old, he's starting to get old too.
On September 25, 2024, nearly a month later, he didn't bring back to Douchy a sweet, gentle little female dog adopted from the animal shelter to keep Loubo company, but a dominant male, a killer, a 5-year-old Belgian Malinois in his prime. Obba, whose peculiarity is that he must constantly have an object in his mouth, otherwise he attacks and bites.
He spent a weekend taking a few photos with the dog for his social media, then abandoned it for a month and a half, until its death, in a fenced enclosure, alone, on the other side of the lake near our workshop. He never saw it again. A despicable act, which he later repeated with two Pitt Bull puppies, rescued in January, two months later from a homeless man, and which he left to rot for nine months, locked up alone in the same enclosure and in degrading, unsanitary conditions. Presumably, he intended to turn them into killers, since he had forbidden employees from letting anyone near them, under threat of dismissal. In Douchy, thank God, nobody listens to him, or even respects him; the employees know dogs too well for that, and despite his howling and incessant threats, and especially because of his absence for months, they let everyone who wanted to approach the puppies, at least on weekends.
It is the manager of Douchy who feeds Obba during the week and the security guard on the weekend.
We tried to socialize him, but the dog displayed unbalanced behavior.
One day, he bit an employee; another time, he attacked my daughters' mother, tearing off her sweater before biting her forearm until it bled, his teeth sunk into her flesh, all in front of my daughter Liv and a completely terrified and distraught security guard. The following week, he jumped at the same guard's throat, who instinctively pulled back his head and had his fleece neck warmer ripped off. I think of our children and warn them, "One day we're going to have an accident," perhaps even with Loubo, who is getting old and, although imposing, is a disabled dog with a pin in his hind leg, running from the top of his femur to his phalanges.
On November 2, 2024, the accident happened. I asked security to fire twice, first into the air, then to the side, thinking Obba would let go. Nothing! He had dragged Loubo a meter from the edge, into the mud and reeds. "Like a crocodile!" the security guard said afterward.
Loubo's head was clamped in his mouth, he was bleeding, he was no longer defending himself. Obba was drowning him, killing him. Who goes down into the mud up to their thighs to separate a strange dog gone mad, who has bitten before and will attack again!?
I chose our dog, Loubo, our family, what remains of our father and grandfather. He should have shown gratitude, as the rest of the family did. And if Loubo had died…
Naturally, all of this is unfortunate, it made me very sad, but that animal should never have been abandoned on our property; it was irresponsible. Contrary to what has been fabricated, Obba succumbed quickly to his injuries. Every time I think about it, it hurts, but when I look into our dog's eyes today, I know…I know he knows.
Anthony Delon is going to file a complaint against his brother
Following this statement, Anthony Delon clarified:
« I hesitated for a long time before answering, because as I have already said and my actions also prove it, since the disappearance of my father, I have been trying to do everything to honor his memory, hence my absence from the correctional court on March 17 as well as my letter to the president of that same court.
I feel compelled today, despite everything, to defend myself against the allegations, which are, all things considered, confused, but serious, false and slanderous, of a deranged mind.
Unfortunately, since war has become his sole reason for living and his only means of existence, this will not stop without consequences.
Therefore, a first complaint for slanderous denunciation will be filed in the coming days against Mr. Alain-Fabien Delon… »
