Six Nations Tournament: France dominates Wales and remains the sole contender for the Grand Slam

On Sunday, the French rugby team delivered a strong performance at Cardiff's Principality Stadium, securing a resounding victory against Wales (54-12). A week after their convincing win against Ireland (36-14), Les Bleus confirmed their current form with one of their most impressive performances of the campaign.

An offensive demonstration

The French scored 8 tries, inflicting their opponents' biggest victory on Welsh soil.

From the outset, the French took the lead, opening the scoring after just 88 seconds through Émilien Gailleton. The first half, already very accomplished, saw several scorers shine, notably tries from Louis Bielle-Biarrey, the young Fabien Brau-Boirie, and playmaker Matthieu Jalibert.

In the second half, French dominance did not weaken. Tries from Julian Marchand, Théo Attissogbe (twice) and Charles Ollivon increased the score, while Thomas Ramos converted seven of the eight tries.

This success allows France to remain undefeated after two days and to occupy the sole lead in the Six Nations Tournament standings with 10 points, thanks in particular to the offensive bonus point obtained against the Welsh.

With England's recent defeat against Scotland, France is now the only team still in contention to achieve the Grand Slam.

The third matchday, on Sunday, February 22nd, will see Les Bleus host Italy in Lille, before traveling to Edinburgh to face Scotland at Murrayfield on Saturday, March 7th. The tournament will conclude on Saturday, March 14th with the traditional France-England clash at the Stade de France. We can't wait!
