Recent weeks have been eventful for Éric Zemmour and his party, Reconquest. Sarah Knafo was sent to the European Parliament, while four key executives were expelled for “treason”. In addition, the party did not obtain any seats during the legislative elections. How can we envisage the future of Reconquest after these successive crises?

A painful electoral failure

During the legislative elections, Reconquest suffered a severe defeat. In 2022, the party obtained 4,24% of the votes in the first round of the legislative elections, but in 2024, this figure fell below 1%. However, Éric Zemmour tried to reassure his supporters by asking them not to despair and not to give up.

A brief glimmer of hope for the Europeans

The European elections on June 9 brought brief relief, with 5,4% of the vote and the sending of five deputies to the European Parliament. However, this victory was short-lived. The next day, the party was shaken by crises: failure of talks with the National Rally, exclusion of four MEPs including Marion Maréchal, Guillaume Peltier, Nicolas Bay and Laurence Trochu. These events reduced the party's executive office to Éric Zemmour, Sarah Knafo and Stanislas Rigault, president of the Génération Zemmour young movement.

Resilience and determination

Despite these setbacks, Samuel Lafont, responsible for the party's digital strategy and fundraising, remains optimistic. He compares the situation to a football match or a battlefield where you have to get up after each fall. He affirms that Reconquest is a resilient and well-established party, determined to continue fighting for each election.

Another party executive, wishing to remain anonymous, believes that the 0,7% obtained during the legislative elections do not reflect reality. According to him, the party's base remains solid and the difficulties encountered strengthen their determination. He also points out that the party recorded 900 new memberships after the events of June 9.

A flexible and innovative structure

For the remaining members, the smaller size of the party is seen as an advantage, allowing for more agility and risk-taking. With representation in the European Parliament, Éric Zemmour continues to aim for a global ideological victory, regardless of the means necessary to achieve it.

Samuel Lafont highlights the structure of the party and its territorial coverage, affirming that the system is well put together and that the platform works effectively. He insists on the importance of innovation and the use of artificial intelligence, particularly on social networks, to maintain the party's presence outside of election years.

Healthy finances and new projects

Despite the disappointments, the party's finances are stable, thanks to the full reimbursement of the presidential election, the reduction in the payroll, the arrival of new members and the stability of donors. Reconquest plans to focus on the training of local executives and the promotion of new figures within the party. Éric Zemmour must continue his work of transmission, and the party must continue to innovate to constantly renew itself.

Reconquest has not yet signed its death warrant and can count on the motivation of its troops to overcome the crises and continue to fight for its ideals.
