Jordan Bardella will be the sole candidate for the presidency of the National Rally at the congress held on October 24 and 25 in Orléans. With no other challenger, the man who has led the party for the past four years is therefore guaranteed to retain his position.
Initially appointed interim president in September 2021, Jordan Bardella officially succeeded Marine Le Pen in November 2022. He then won the internal election with 85% of the vote against Louis Aliot. The politician, who will turn 31 in September, has obtained 421 endorsements for this new election.
The National Council was also renewed
Members of the National Rally will also elect the members of the National Council in an electronic vote held from September 21 to October 22. A total of 421 applications were submitted, including those of 307 men and 114 women. Only the 100 candidates with the most votes will join this governing body.
Jordan Bardella is not among the candidates, but will automatically take his seat as party president. He will also have the power to appoint 20 additional members. Marine Le Pen, who is also not running in the internal election, could thus be directly integrated into the National Council.
