MP Aurélien Taché did not vote in the European elections on Sunday June 9, an abstention due to a polling station error. Elected official for the 10th constituency of Val-d'Oise and support of La France Insoumise (LFI) for these elections, presented himself at his usual polling station in Cergy in the middle of the day. However, he was informed on the spot that he had been removed from the electoral rolls, which he denounced in a video published on X (formerly Twitter), describing the situation as "abusive removal".
In his video, Taché expresses his surprise, indicating that the municipality should have contacted him by all means to inform him of this radiation. He is even considering taking legal action to be reinstated on the electoral lists. However, Cergy town hall quickly responded, explaining that Taché had been deregistered on May 6, 2022 after registering on the electoral lists of another municipality, Vauréal, following a move.
Taché recognized his error the day after the election, specifying that he had actually registered at Vauréal in 2022 and that his removal from Cergy logically resulted from this. Although he is now an owner in Cergy and has made a new registration request, this has not yet been taken into account. Too late to vote this time, he plans to go to Vauréal for the early legislative elections on June 30 and July 7, where he will be a candidate for his own succession.
