Lyhanna's death: Sarah Knafo calls for a public registry of sex offenders and 100.000 new prison spaces

During the special program dedicated to the Lyhanna case on BFM TVSeven political leaders presented their proposals to address the shortcomings highlighted by this tragedy. Among them, Sarah Knafo, a Reconquest MEP, advocated a particularly firm stance.

Speaking from the United States, a close associate of Éric Zemmour advocated for the creation in France of a public registry of convicted sex offenders, modeled on the American system. According to her, such a system would allow families to more easily verify whether a person has a prior conviction for sexual offenses and would thus contribute to better protecting children.

Sarah Knafo also emphasized the need to significantly increase the country's prison capacity. She proposed building 100.000 additional prison spaces, arguing that dangerous individuals must be kept behind bars to prevent any risk of recidivism. Her proposals sparked reactions; Socialist Party leader Olivier Faure, in particular, expressed reservations about the idea of a public database.
